Cornerstone Clubhouse launched a Mental Health Awareness initiative October 5th 2006, to raise awareness of mental health issues in Chester County. The kick off October started with the first article "Beyond the Label" and will continue with coverage of the following planned issues: November "Mental Illness, Stigma and Early Intervention;December- "Holiday Stress and Mental Illness";January- "Helping Organizations in the Community"; Febuary- "Housing and Accomodations";March-"The Benefits of Excercise"; April Employment:Pros and Cons; May-"Positives of Recovery". The purpose of the campaign is to educate the community about early intervention and treatment. During the week of December 12th, 2006 Cornerstone Clubhouse will distribute "complimentary stress relief bags" which containing mental health information. These bags will be distributed December 12,2006 over lunch at Maple Lawn Rite Aide Pharmacy and December 14th Phoenixville Gateway Pharmacy. The hopeful outcome is that individuals needing services will recieve information and treatment. Cornerstone Clubhouse welcomes donations from the community including gentle used clothing, small appliances, bedding and money.
